Music 4 Veterans
Interviews with veterans/musicians/therapists...on how we use music as a therapeutic tool. When you hear music, how does it make you feel? Does it bring back fond memories and transports you — even momentarily — to a peaceful place and time? Maybe it makes you feel relaxed, or it gets your blood pumping and makes you want to dance or sing along! Few other experiences in life have the wide array of effects on us that music has. Whether you want to destress, get motivated, forget your troubles or focus on a project, the right music can help you get there. Music also impacts both our minds and bodies in a variety of ways, from lowering anxiety to improving sleep, reducing pain and blood pressure, boosting mood, and increasing memory and mental alertness.

Want a good story? Listen to Kevin and MSgt (ret) Phil Freeman discuss his service in the most physically demanding job in the Air Force as a special tactics combat controller. Phil talks about how music came into his life kinda by accident, but that is the story Phil tells about his life...all kind of by accident. However, he is one of the most professional individuals I have ever met and had the pleasure to be stationed with. Give him 10 mins and you will want to hear the rest!!
